This project consisted of the expansion and upgrade of the existing Water Reclamation Facility from 2.0 MGD to 4.0 MGD, along with the installation of approximately 20,000 LF of 24-inch force main through Fort Stewart to the Taylors Creek discharge pipe. Work included replacement of the existing headworks, installation of new SBR equipment within the existing tankage, construction of a parallel cloth filter system, upgrades to the UV disinfection system, and installation of multiple pumping stations to support the expanded capacity.

The scope of work for the project included: Grading, dredging, and cleaning of the reject pond; construction of concrete driveways; installation of drainage pipes and structures; selective demolition; installation of electrical controls; erosion control and grassing; installation of a manual filter screen; construction of an influent pump station; installation of an SBR system; installation of a disk filtration system; installation of UV disinfection; construction of a reject pump station; installation of a sludge dewatering system; installation of an emergency power supply; and installation of a transformer.

The Facility Upgrade Division A work shall be to increase the treatment capacity of the existing plant from a 0.7452 MGD Facility to a 1 MGD average monthly flow and a 3 MGD peak facility. The existing facility consists of an Aeration Pond, a Facultative Pond and a Polishing Pond. These existing ponds are proposed to remain. A new plant site is proposed approximately 900’ southeast of the existing plant headworks.

The scope of work for this project included additions to the water pollution control plant to include construction of a screen and grit structure, a treatment plant complete with two trains of aeration basins, clarifiers and digesters, blowers, tertiary filters, ultraviolet disinfection system, a plant pump station, effluent pump station, sludge dewatering containers, control building, and blower building all complete with appurtenances.
